Forbes – A unique set of QB strengths and weaknesses and an affinity for wearing his Christian faith on his sleeve combine to make Tebow a compelling public figure, even as an NFL backup. Whether or not he’s able to remain deeply ingrained in the public consciousness without eventually getting more time on the field remains to be seen. But for now, Tebow, he of 2.2 million Twitter followers, is still the man people talk about.
Yawn. Tebow wins again. But not really. He seems to win at everything but sports. And let’s face it, he’s barely an athlete. He’s more of a spiritual leader who happens to play football. Like going through Tebow’s twitter feed I bet you would find every single passage in the Bible. I’m not hating on him for being religious like that, he’s a great motivator because of his strong faith to people, I’ll give him that, but putting a backup quarterback on this list is kinda far stretched. Forbes claims they use all these statistics, formulas, and research in compiling this list but apparently they don’t factor in on-field performance (which last time I checked is most important in determining an athlete’s success). Talk about beating around the bush a little, eh Forbes? I guess I can live with it as long as Phelps holds strong at #2 and Lochte’s dumbass never ever gets there. Here’s the full rankings;
1. Tim Tebow
2. Michael Phelps
3. Usain Bolt (note: how is he one of America’s most influential athletes? Last time I checked he could barely speak English)
4. Derek Jeter
5. Peyton Manning
6. Drew Brees
7. Gabby Douglas (note: this is upsetting, really expected Mckayla Maroney here)
8. Aaron Rodgers
9. LeBron James (note: great athlete, absolutely…belongs on this list, yeah right…)
10. David Beckham (note: he may have taken his talents to Paris but all those soccer fans we have here in the USA are still very influenced)
