Press Release – The new Miller Lite bottle is upgrading the light beer category. The sleek design provides an innovative, contoured shape that is a modern interpretation of the brand’s legendary long neck. The new Miller Lite bottle will only be available in bars and restaurants this summer.
Inspired by form and design, the modern look of the new bottle offers broad shoulders and a contoured grip, intended for easy handling from the bar to the pool table. The bottle defies the convention of the standard cylinder-shaped bottle, helping Miller Lite stand out among the brown bottle sameness of other light beers.
First Heineken and Budweiser, and now Miller Lite (for the first time in 40 years) is the latest to join the new design craze. Huge fan of this new design. Too bad I have absolutely zero desire to ever drink a Miller Lite. Had a Miller Lite once on an airplane because the only other beer available was Coors (and I think that’s a lot worse), so I was cornered and had no choice. Ended up being a regrettable decision that I won’t do again. Bud products are clearly superior but that isn’t the topic of this. Only one concern about this new shape; how is Miller incorporating the vortex? Obviously if they are not, Miller is basically saying the vortex was a marketing gimmick (which it probably was) but that’s no way to give up belief in your product. Whatever still liked the idea of the vortex, as well as the punch top can. All in all, I like the new bottle design especially since all beer bottles look the freaking same, its a nice way to distinguish one from the other. Now if the product inside was different from the piss they’re currently putting in there then maybe this would be a different story.
p.s…always wondered what Jon Taffer’s thoughts on the punch top can were since he’s usually opposed to binge drinking, wonder if he’d just pull a casual “shut it down!” if he caught a bar serving that
