First off, if you don’t know who Jon Taffer is then “shame on you!”
You’ve been missing out on three seasons of the greatest show on television, SpikeTV’s Bar Rescue. Not only is Jon an American icon but, since I started watching the show he’s slowly becoming my idol. I can legitimately watch this show for hours upon hours and continue to be entertained. Jon hosts the show and owns the role like no other. Nothing getting my gears going like Taffer flipping out on some oblivious bar owner, it’s fucking awesome. It’s the same situation every show, Taffer comes into some shitty bar that’s losing thousands of dollars a month and basically rips the owner and all the employees a new asshole. Then he takes over and redesigns the shit out of it, changes the name, and eventually makes it profitable. He’s the best there is.
Now last week I came across this article in the NY Post saying Jon Taffer is slated to have his own talk show come Fall 2014. Not only is this the greatest news in the world but this show is primed to be the best talk show out there. There’s just no doubt in my mind.
NY Post – “The format [of the show] is Jon fighting for the underdog . . . when you have no place to turn, you turn to Taffer,” says [Richard] Dominick, who also created truTV’s ratings hit “Hardcore Pawn,” among other shows.
The pilot for “Taffer” was shot in front of a live audience and comprised three segments — one about an abusive relationship, one about a deadbeat dad and his daughter, and the third encompassing a 22-year-old woman whose mother is a drug addict.
This show is going to be such a hit and I could not be more excited. The fact that I have to wait over a year to see this is appalling. Like I need these pilot clips to leak asap so I can get my Taffer fix, especially since Season 3 of Bar Rescue just came to a halt. I aspire to be like Taffer, he’s one of those talents that are few and far between.
