There Is Now Officially No Reason To Ever Go To A Mets Game

Not like there was really a great reason to hit up Flushing, NY, but the only slimmer of hope the Mets had of convincing you that there was, just vanished. The New York police are now apparently patrolling the Mets parking lot like a college football tailgate. The only difference; you’ll get a ticket for drinking a beer outside Citi Field no matter your age. $25 drinking in public tickets have been issued in bunches this season by the NYPD to tailgaters preparing to watch their mediocre Mets struggle for 9-innings. Neither the Jets or Yankees enforce the law, which has had drinking in public long banned in the five boroughs, but the Mets are the only ones playing the no-fun card and angering their fans.

Yahoo Sports – “I was unaware of the rule until it was too late,” said Woodmere, New York, resident Sami Wyman, who received a $25 citation for drinking a Bud Light out of the can at Mets Opening Day this year. “It’s unfortunate that some people can’t control themselves when drinking, but it is outrageous to ticket people for something that is a traditional part of a sporting event.

Good luck getting those attendance figures up Mets.
