Man Steals From Store Named “Finders Keepers”

WMUR – After being accused of shoplifting from a Derry, N.H., thrift store called Finders Keepers, Ruben Pavon is arguing that he was simply confused by the store’s name.
“I thought it was there for the taking. The sign did say “Finders Keepers.” So I took that DVD player, took it home. A couple of weeks later, the stuff is still there on the porch, so I’m thinking to myself, ‘Finders Keepers. They probably just put stuff out there for people to take.”

I completely understand this guys’ debacle. Finders keepers is a given of a rule, and now a store has a sign up that says “Finders Keepers?” That’s basically double jeopardy. Case closed. You grab it first, it’s yours. That’s how finders keepers works. There’s no buts or ifs about it. And what about this Laura Baker character (the store owner) being a smartass and saying, “I don’t know of any stores where there’s free stuff. It would be nice if there were. I’d be there on a regular basis myself.” Umm well bitch maybe you shouldn’t try to be clever and name your store after one of the most understood rules in our country. Finders keepers was like one of the first things I learned in my childhood, right before the 5 second rule. And now this girl wants to tell me that rule doesn’t fly in her store? Bitch please. If Laura doesn’t want people and coming in following exactly what her store sign says then she shouldn’t try to be a funny girl and name her store something that can be misinterpreted. 100% her fault. #FreeRuben.
