Dodger Stadium Outdoor NHL Game Now Official

It’s been long speculated but now is finally confirmed. The NHL announced today the details of another one of its numerous planned outdoor games as a part of the 2014 Coors Light Stadium Series, as the Los Angeles Kings will host the Anaheim Ducks at Dodger Stadium on January 25th, 2014. Of course the main concern for everyone is how the hell they will keep the ice from melting with average highs near 70 in LA at that date, but have no fear there is a multi-million dollar ice making system just for that purpose. That system includes a 300-panel floor that is kept frozen by a truck, with 1500 gallons of water pushed through it per minute to create ice. Nothing could possibly go wrong there, and worst case they can just take a page out of Rocket Power’s book and go the roller hockey route. It’s all inevitable that the NHL is gonna try to play its first ever game on wheels as long as Bettman is at the helm.

“With their meeting in the 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series, the Ducks and the Kings will write the next chapter in the exciting story of NHL hockey in Southern California,” Commissioner Gary Bettman said. “At a venue that represents so much glorious sports history, this match-up of Stanley Cup champions will raise our outdoor initiatives to bold new heights. We know the game will be a treat for our fans, and we thank the Ducks, the Kings, Coors Light, Dodger Stadium and the Los Angeles Dodgers for bringing it to life.”

Thanks Bettman and as always thanks Coors Light, could possibly never have done this without the silver bullet.

p.s….still waiting on the announcement of the rest of these games….
